Today we got some tips from our Toyota insider. The major news is the all-new designed LS will utilize a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber, in large percentage (as high as 80%) of its body structure.

Compared to the German competitors, the upcoming BMW 7-series (G11/G12) will use the similar approach, by incorporating the carbon fiber tube inside as the core of the aluminum structural parts; the current Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W222) is using aluminum and steel construction; while the A...

Indicated by its name, the IS200t will be powered by the 8AR-FTS turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine, which can also be found in the current Lexus NX200t CUV.

Lexus has not released the output specification of the IS200t, but our best bet is the numbers will be the same as NX200t, which means 235hp @ 4,800 RPM and 258 lb-ft @ 1,650 RPM. However, as we have mentioned in our previous article, given the 8AR-TFS is over-built and is capable of delivering a much higher output, also the spo...

Latest Update on the All-New 2017 Lexus LS Flagship Sedan

Last December we have reported some information regarding the next-gen Lexus LS sedan. Today we are going to show you more exciting updates.

First is a test mule of the 5th-gen (XF50) LS sedan, probably coming as the 2017 model year, is caught by Japanese magazine “MAG-X”. Below is one of the spy shot (for the complete photo set please see the gallery at the end of this article).

Please note that this is just a test mule, which means it is using the current LS exterior shell, but with new powerplant and chassis underside. This explains why you may find in the spyshot the car looks just like a current LS with camouflage.

The next news is: Lexus has recently trademarked th...

Breaking: Lexus Will Start US Production by Year End

Maybe not known to all: currently Lexus has a total of 6 Japanese domestic plants, and only one oversea factory which is located in Ontario, Canada (Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada, Inc.), which builds the Lexus RX CUV.

2016_Lexus_ES_7

However, Lexus will soon add one more oversea factory inside the United States: the 2016 ES sedan sold in the US market will be built in Toyota’s Georgetown, Kentucky plant.

This not only marks the first time that the ES sedan is built outside of Japan, but also the first time that Lexus is making a car inside the US.

But please do not be confused that, the ES sedan sold in the rest of the world will still be built in Toyota’s Miyata plant, located in...

Turbocharged 2016 Lexus RX200t Unveiled

The Lexus family will get one more turbocharged member: Lexus has announced the all-new 2016 RX200t in the 2015 Shanghai auto show today.

The RX200t will share the same 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine found in the NX200t, output is 235hp and 258 lb-ft. The turbocharged engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Although the 2016 RX350 will be using a 8-speed unit, it looks like Lexus did not have enough time to work on the 2.0T + 8AT combination for the 2016 model year.

Please see the below press release for more details.
