More News: The 5th-Generation Lexus LS

One week ago we have mentioned the plan of the next Lexus LS flagship sedan, today we got some good news for you: it will be debuted earlier than we have expected: probably in the 2016 North American International Auto Show, to be held in Detroit next January.

We have also known some more details about the full-size sedan’s engines:

– 5.0L naturally aspirated V8, output around 469hp (LS500);
– 5.0L V8 + electric motor hybrid powertrain, combined output: ~543hp (LS500h)

The current LS460 is behind its competitors regarding the engine output, with “only” 386hp coming out of the 4.6L V8, it is way behind the BMW 750i’s 445hp, Mercedes-Benz S550’s 449hp and also Audi A8 4.0 TFSI’s 435hp. I am glad to see this time Lexus not only keeps the pace, but also possibly exceeding its competitors by a considerable margin.

We will keep you posted once we hear more updates.
