We have reported that last week Lexus Europe “accidentally” revealed a teaser image of the upcoming LF-SA concept. Today, the official images have leaked ahead of the Geneva motor show, which will open its door next week.

The LF-SA concept is a 3-door hatchback, and it is based on the platform of the next-gen Toyota Yaris. Lexus has not released any spec on the concept. Meanwhile, please sit back and enjoy the below gallery. We will provide you more updates after the LF-SA debut in Geneva next week.

We do not know whether Lexus was intended to do this, but anyway the first photo of the LF-SA concept car was leaked on the internet today (Lexus Europe posted this photo on its Twitter account earlier today, then quickly removed it after a short time).

The LF-SA concept is scheduled to be announced in next month’s Geneva motor show, and depicts a future Lexus production model which is reportedly positioned below the current CT200h hybrid hatchback. From the above teaser photo we have the below two conclusions:

The current generation of Lexus RX has been in the market for over 6 years now, and it obviously needs a redesign.

We have known Lexus has been working on a new RX for a while, and many people thought it will be debuted in last month’s Detroit auto show. But unfortunately, it did not show up.

Today our insider from Toyota told us that the company has decided to release the all-new 4th-generation RX SUV in this April’s New York auto show. No further details are avaialble at this time, and we do not know whether the new RX will grow into a 3-row-seat design either...

Toyota Crown + 2.0 turbo engine and 8AT

Today, the first China-spec Toyota Crown has rolled off the production line. The Crown sold in China is based on the Toyota Crown Majesta, which is sold in Japan. Compared to the Crown Majesta, the China-spec Crown has added another 2.95-in to the wheelbase, makes it to be 115.2 inches.

One big news to the Crown: besides the current engine option (the 2.5L V6, with 6AT), Toyota is going to introducing the 2.0L turbo 4-cylinder (which is currently used on the 2015 Lexus NX200t), and mates it to the Aisin-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission.

If you’ve paid attention to the IIHS crash test data (which you can find in the “Technical Measurements” tab, under each model’s test category, on the IIHS official webpage), then you may have an impression that, compared to its German luxury car competitors, Lexus usually has inferior crash test results.
