2016 BMW X5M & X6M:  Is Fast An Understatement?

Have you ever wished that an SUV would handle like a sports car? The completely redesigned 2016 X5M and X6M turns that dream into reality.

According to BMW’s test report, they tested the X6M on the famous Nürburgring. The time that it takes the X6M to finish one lap, is the SAME time as the last-generation E92 M3 coupe! This is a really remarkable achievement.

We get a chance to view the new X5M and X6M in person today during the BMW debut event in LA auto show, and we will show you the exclusive photos of the X6M’s engine bay.

BMW Will Roll Out the New Engine, July 2016

In our previous article we reported that BMW will make some changes to the 3/4-series. BMW will rename the 35i models to 40i, and also the 28i will become 30i.

This is not JUST a name change because the current N55 6-cylinder engine in the 35i models will be replaced by the newly-designed B58 engine.  The same for the N20 engines in the 28i trims: it will be replaced by the brand-new B48 4-cylinder engine as well. BMW is going to roll out this engine swap starting July 2016 and we can NOT wait.

What are BMW & Toyota up to?

BMW and Toyota are currently working together, but better yet, they’re working on producing a midsize sports car. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, please check out our previous article about this amazing project.

Most of us think that Toyota is pretty good at making cars for the average Joe, the nine to fiver, essentially taking people from point A to point B. However, Toyota is really good at making sports cars. Remember the early Toyota 2000GT in the 1960s? (shown below):

Two weeks ago we heard some updates from our source that the upcoming 2016 M2 will be equipped with a completely new designed S57 engine and it produces around 400hp.

Now it looks like the information is not 100% correct: there is a NEWER update that indicates the M2 will still keep the N55 engine, but it will probably be upgraded with 2 turbochargers (instead one on the standard N55 engine), and the final output will be around 380hp. Below is a rendering of the 2016 BMW M2.

In fact, it doesn’t matter whether the engine is called the S57 or N55, the most important thing is that: it WILL be twin-turbocharged...
