In this section we will examine RDX’s interior and related features.

The most of the interior cabin areas are covered with either soft-touch plastic material, or leather.

The leather is high quality, it has a more natural touch feel than the MB-Tex synthetic leather found in our previous GL450 test car. On the sitting surface, the leather is perforated, which can help to keep you cool during summer time.

Before we go into our discussion of the Acura RDX, I would like to talk about who is a potential buyer for this compact SUV...

Two days ago, we reported that Mercedes-Benz China is going to be under government’s antitrust investigation.

In fact, the Chinese government act so quickly that yesterday (Aug. 04, China time), the China National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), who is the regulation authority, searched Mercedes-Benz China’s Shanghai office without any prior notice.

The sudden search lasted for one full day...

Just like BMW is making the M Performance models such as the M235i, Mercedes-Benz is also considering something lower than the AMG badge, but higher than “normal” models.

“AMG Sport” is Mercedes’ answer to BMW’s M Performance. According to our insider, the first AMG Sport product will be the upcoming C450 AMG Sport, which we have been talked about here, here a while ago (we even provide you a rough price estimate of the C450 in this post!).

The AMG Sport product line will definitely not limited to the C450, it will also be extended to the A/E/S/GLA/ML/GL-Class vehicles.

We will see the announcement of the C450 AMG Sport some time next year...

Last Friday (August 1st, 2014), BMW starts the second generation X6 (F16 X6) production in its Spartanburg, SC plant.

According to BMW, the first production X6 is a xDrive 35i wears the Sophisto Gray color, with Cognac Black nappa leather. That very X6 is heading for a dealership in China.

The BMW Spartanburg plant will also produce the upcoming 3-row-seat X7.
