We knew it would come, and finally it is here: the 2016 Lexus GS-F.

Today Lexus released two teaser photos of a new high performance F models, which is to be debuted in next month’s Detroit Auto Show. Although Lexus did not say what model it is, but judging from the exterior styling and also the distance between the front axle and the engine bay’s firewall, we are almost certain that it is the long-rumored GS-F sedan.

The GS-F is said to be equipped with a 500hp 5.0L V8 engine. We will know the exact number on Jan. 13, 2015, when Lexus hold the press conference during the auto show.

Lexus LC500 & LC500h Trademarked

It looks like Lexus higher-ups  were working hard during the Thanksgiving holiday season. Why You ask? Because they registered both the “LC500” and “LC500h” trademark in multiple countries on November 24th and 25th. Let’s take a look at the details below:

US (11/24) – serial number: 86462781 (for LC500) and 86462851 (for LC500h)
Canada (11/24) – application number: 1704062 (for LC500) and 1704063 (for LC500h)
Australia (11/25) – TM number: 1660392 (for LC500) and 1660396 (for LC500h)

More Than Rumors?

It is also rumored that Lexus is going to design the next-generation of the RX SUV to be a 3-row-seater. In fact, during our interview with Mr. Yasuo Kajino, Group Manager of the Lexus Design Division, Mr. Kajino mentioned to me that the LF-C2 concept does not indicate only one production model, in fact it reflects the possibility of several new model design styles. Why is the LF-LC different from the LFA?

Lexus has debuted the LF-LC back in the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Recently Alain Uyttenhoven, Lexus Europe Vice President, confirmed to the public that the upper management had green-lighted the production version of the LF-LC concept. Uyttenhoven also told the press that, the LF-LC will NOT be positioned the same as the LFA, and it is more “normal” than the LFA. The production volume will be also much larger than the LFA’s 500-unit count.

The LF-LC is said to be equipped with a hybrid V8 powertrain, delivering up to 500hp. We at youwheel.com will keep an eye on this exciting new model in the Lexus product line, so stay tuned.
