More Details: The Supercharged HEMI 6.2L V8 on Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

For the new engine in the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat, the supercharger supplier is not Eaton (which is famous for the Eaton TVS used on the Audi 3.0 V6 engine). Instead it is an twin screw supercharger from IHI.

The IHI supercharger has similar efficiency with the Eaton TVS roots-type superchargers, but it has a significant higher operation noise level, which I think is not a problem for the purpose of Challenger anyway – because the Challenger is not designed for luxury car purpose. And also I guess the invoice that IHI is quoting Chrysler may be lower than Eaton.

Mercedes-Benz C Class Wagon Officially Revealed

Today Mercedes-Benz announced its W205 C class wagon model. Besides the official images, here are specification we know at this moment:

Total length: 185.1 in (3.8-in longer than the W204 wagon)

Wheelbase: 111.8 in (rear legroom increased 1.8 in)

Width: 71.3 in

Engine options will be the same as the C class sedan.

At this moment we are not sure whether this new model will be sold in US side.

Tesla Announces Model S Chinese Market MSRP

Unlike our US market, imported cars sold in China are heavily taxed based on multiple factors such as the engine’s displacement.

But apparently the tax policy does not work on electric cars. Yesterday Tesla released its product pricing for Chinese market. The Model S 60kWh carries a price tag of RMB 648,000 (around USD $103,885 using today’s FX rate). Do not be surprised about the USD equivalent value, because cars are way more expensive in China. For example the Lexus GS350 FSport’s MSRP in China is RMB 780,000 (around USD $125,046).
