We have been relentlessly following the all-new Ford Focus RS for a while (please see our articles here). Ford gives us the most wanted information today: the engine output parameters.

Here it comes:

– 345 hp (350 ps)
– 325 lb-ft (440 Nm) of torque @ 2000-4500 rpm
– Overboost mode: 347 lb-ft (470 Nm) can be maintained for 15 seconds

As we have mentioned before, Jaguar Land Rover is in the process of renaming its “R” and “R-S” high-performance models to a new name “SVR”, just like the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR.

It is expected the next model which receives the “SVR” treatment will be the Jaguar F-Type. Today some spy shots of the rumored F-Type SVR emerged on the internet. Please see the below gallery.

The F-Type SVR is an enhanced version based on the current F-Type R, which has a supercharged 5.0L V8 with 550hp and all-wheel-drive. The SVR version may has final output as high as reaching the 600hp mark (has not been confirmed by JLR at this moment)...

When talking about electric vehicles, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is definitely not a newbie in the market.

In fact, JLR has mastered the latest electric powertrain technologies 5 years ago: back in the 2010 Paris motor show, Jaguar has debuted the C-X75 plug-in concept, which uses 4 electric motors to drive the 4 wheels respectively. The power comes from a battery pack. One very distinct feature of the C-X75 is: the battery pack is charged by two gas turbine engine (something similar to the turboprop engine on airplanes).

Jaguar Land Rover To Get SVR Badge

Most auto makers only have one naming convention for its high performance models, for example BMW M, Mercedes-Benz AMG, Lexus F etc.

But this is not the case for Jaguar Land Rover currently. For example the Range Rover Sport has SVR variants:

the XF has the R-S mode (XFR-S):

and the most powerful F-Type is called “F-Type R”

This sounds like a chaos. But JLR is going to address this by using the SVR badge across the whole brand uniquely. This is confirmed by John Edwards, head of the JLR Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). Therefore in the future there will be no XFR-S or F-Type R, instead of the XF SVR and the F-Type SVR.
