Facelifted 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Announced

Last month, we have reported the 2016 model year GL-class is going to replace its old 4.7L V8 with the latest M177 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine. Today Mercedes-Benz announced its second move on the V8 engine swapping: the current 5.5L naturally aspirated V8 (M273) used on the G500/G550 will go for good, and the new turbo-charged M177 4.0L V8 is going to assume its role.

Officially Announced: the Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4² Concept

One month ago, we have reported that Mercedes is also working on a 4-wheel version of its G63 AMG 6X6 truck.

Today Mercedes-Benz finally announced this rumored truck, and its official name is called “G500 4x4²”. You can simply think this truck to be the previous G63 AMG 6X6 sans two wheels, and replaced with a different engine. Below are some key features:

– Permanent all-wheel-drive with low range gears; Front/center/rear fully lockable differentials
