According to our Chrysler insider, the company’s engineering team is working revising the 6.2L supercharged V8 engine, to make it suitable to sit inside the Grand Cherokee’s engine compartment. The project progress suggests an official debut in mid or late-2016 as the 2017 model.

Because FCA wants to use the nameplate of “SRT” solely for the Dodge brand, the future SRT/SRT Hellcat version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee may bear a new name called “Grand Cherokee Trackhawk”.

Today Dodge released the fuel economy number for the 707hp 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat. Results are:

– Challenger SRT Hellcat with 8-speed automatic transmission: 22/13/16mpg (hwy/city/combined)
– Challenger SRT Hellcat with 7-speed manual transmission: 21/13/16mpg (hwy/city/combined)

Next, a bad news for those who want to buy this muscle car: because of the low combined fuel efficiency rating, the Challenger Hellcat will trigger the Federal Gas Guzzler Tax. Today Dodge released the pricing of the 2015 Challenger, of course the focus is on the 707hp SRT Hellcat.

From the below photo taken live at the scene, the engine output of 707 hp is a big selling point for Dodge.

I bet GM would not be happy to see this photo, because Dodge also highlighted the Corvette Z06 on that slides. Looks familiar to something you have seen before?
