2016 BMW X1 Rendering and Latest Information

The next generation of the BMW X1 is planned to be released in September 2015, we have reported some information a while ago. As the date is approaching, exterior rendering and more specifications become available.

Below is an artist rendering of the new X1. The new generation small SUV will be based on BMW Group’s UKL front-wheel-drive platform. Both FWD and AWD option will be offered.

UC Berkeley Research Showed Luxury Car Driver Is More Rude

A 2012 study by Prof. Piff from the Department of Psychology, University of California, Berkeley indicates that, based on the 274 samples they acquired from Bay Area local road, they found that the higher the vehicle’s status (more luxury), the higher percentage among them that cut off other vehicles at the four-way intersection with stop signs on all sides, and also higher percentage that cut off pedestrians at a crosswalk.

Why the Audi RS3 Concept Is A Big Deal

Yesterday VW revealed the A3 Clubsport Quattro – which is believed to be a concept prototype of the upcoming RS3 sedan.

The biggest news comes from the concept car is its 525hp 5-cylinder turbo engine. From my point of view, this is a revolution in the market. The reason is: VW is able to pump out 525hp from the 2.5-litre displacement, using only 1.5 bar pressure of turbo boost, this translates to 212hp per litre. For comparison, the Mercedes-Benz M133 engine which is used on the CLA45AMG, is using a much higher 1.8 bar of boost, but can only achieve 181hp per litre.

The VW engine has excellent torque curve too: 443 lb-ft available from 2300 to 6000 rpm...
