Rent in Style

When talking about rental cars, most people will think about renting a Ford Focus, Chevy Malibu, Toyota Camry, Starting from the recent 2 or 3 years, luxury cars are increasingly becoming the norm in major rental car companies.

Take Hertz for example, currently one of its popular premium car brand is Mercedes-Benz, mainly the C/E/GLK class. Hertz’s major competitor, Avis, is dedicated to BMW. The 3/5/X3/X5 are the popular models.

Hertz goes a step further and now offers some more expensive cars for rent, which includes the Mercedes AMG models, BMW M cars (M3, M5) and all Porsche models. Specifically the fleet includes:

One fact known to all of us is the high performance version of the current BMW 2-series – M235i, has a turbo inline 6 engine that produces 320 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque.

This left the rumored M2 with less space for imagination. We all admit that BMW would not let M2’s specification and performance touch the higher-level product such as M3/M4’s territory. Considering the upcoming M3/M4 will has a 425 hp 6 cylinder turbo engine, so we are sure if M2 does exist in the future, its engine horsepower will not get close to “425”.

We also found that the front/rear weight distribution of current M235i is not so “optimal”, which is at 53% front and 47% rear...

News from last Friday indicates the german luxury automobile maker BMW, are planning to build the three-row-seater X7, in its South Carolina plant.

The SC plant has been undergone a several hundred million dollar upgrade to accomodate this new model’s manufacturing. The plant’s capacity will be increased to around 400,000 vehicles per year.

YouWheel.com believes BMW’s decision to produce the X7 comes from good sales performance and profit of its competitor: Mercedes-Benz’s GL class. In 2013, Mercedes-Benz sold 29,912 units of GL class in the US market, and 2,408 units in Canada.
