Brake calipers are essential to your car’s ability to stop and are arguably one of the most important automobile brake parts. Some car’s brake calipers are in front of the wheel axle, while other cars have the brake calipers behind the axle.  For example:

Report: MINI Will Discontinue Several Models, Planning Mexico Factory

You may still remember several months ago Jim McDowell, VP of MINI USA, told US media that BMW management is considering stop making several models that do not sell well.

Today we got insider news indicating the departing models in the plan: the Paceman and also the Coupe (including the Roadster).

Automobile Suspension Design 101 (Part V): H-Arm Suspension

In this section, we will take a look at the last type of automobile suspension, which is usually used for rear wheels.

In the H-arm system, one end of the arm is connecting to two locations of the car body; another end connects to two locations of the wheel hub. The H-arm alone can limit 4 degrees of freedom, so it need another horizontal control arm to limit one more degree to make the whole system with 1 degree of freedom.

Rolls-Royce SUV Is Under Development, Debut in 2018

Insider news indicates BMW Group’s high-end brand Rolls-Royce, is currently busy with the design of the first SUV model in the brand’s history. The project’s internal name is called “Cullinan”.

The SUV will be positioned above the Ghost sedan, and below the Phantom flagship. The company is expecting to sell 2,000 unit annually, and the production version will be debut in 2018, around the same time that BMW rolls out its X7 SUV.

As you may know that the Rolls-Royce Ghost sedan is sharing the platform with the BMW 7-Series, there is no doubt that the Rolls-Royce SUV will have something in common with the BMW X7.
