Lexus Launched Supercharged LX570 for Middle East Market

Lexus has launched a special edition of the LX570 (called “LX 570 Supercharger“) in the Kuwait market, with the V8 engine supercharged.

The updated V8 engine now makes 450 hp, instead of the naturally aspirated version’s 383 hp. There is no doubt this model will be available in all major middle-east market soon.

While US market has little possibility to get this supercharged LX570, it leaves us an interesting question: will Lexus build a supercharged LS460? We are know for the full size luxury sedan market in US, the LS460 is lacking behind of the engine output. Last week I have discussed the GM 8AT and the ZF 9AT, today let’s take a look at the Aisin AA80E, which is used in the Lexus IS350, GS350, LS460, IS-F and the upcoming RC-F.

Unlike other longitude mounted 8AT such as the ZF 8HP and GM 8L90, the Aisin transmission uses compound planetary gear sets. A compound planetary gear set is a planetary gear set that has multiple sun gears or multiple ring gears. There are different types of them, the one we are interested in is called the Ravingeaux gear set, which has two sun gears, two planet carriers and they share one common ring gear.

Confirmed: Audi Is Working on the Q8

Due to developement of the large SUV market (BMW X6, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz MLC Class, Tesla Model X), especially growing customer base in US and Asia, our VW insider told us the production Audi Q8 is given the green light and its arriving date is set.

At this moment, the initial official reveal venue is said to be in China.

The car body will made of around 60% of steel, 40% of aluminum or other lightweight materials. V6 and V8 engines will be offered, including a V6 diesel engine. Four-wheel-drive Quattro system is standard.
