Earlier this month we have told you something about the a top trim variant of the Corvette, which will be using a mid-engine layout, and to be named as “Zora ZR1”.

Today from our GM insiders, comes more news about this hypothesis Corvette: the Corvette Zora ZR1, will be debuted as early as in 2016 as the 2017 model.

You may wonder how about the 2017 Corvette standard version? Of course the current front-engined C7 generation Corvette will not be ended in 2017...

Different than the current 1-Series hatchback, the upcoming BMW 1-Series sedan (F52) will be based on a front-wheel-drive platform (which shares with the Mini Cooper). This marks the first FWD vehicle in the whole BMW brand history.

The 1-series sedan is BMW’s answer to the Audi A3 and also Mercedes-Benz CLA-class. The upper trims will get the 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, while base versions will probably get BMW’s latest 3-cylinder turbo engine.

Both FWD and AWD xDrive will be offered. US market will get the 120i and 125i model. 120i will be FWD only, and the 125i buyers can opt for the AWD setting. See below for the latest spy shots.

Yesterday we provide you details of the US-spec Mercedes-AMG C63, and we mentioned the “Edition 1” version during the initial launch period. In the press release, the Edition 1 is described as:

Today Cadillac announced its new plan for naming its product line. The rule is quite simple: all of its current and future vehicles will be name in the format of  “CT[x]” (here x = a number starts at integer “1”, higher value means higher market position of the car).

For example, previously rumor said the upcoming Cadillac full-size sedan’s name will be “LTS”, now its official name is “CT6”. Below is a spy shot of the Cadillac CT6 full-size luxury sedan.

You may recall recently there is another brand also has this dramatic change of nomenclature, yes you are right, the Infiniti. You may also has a feeling that this is a similar strategy – yes you are right again.

Following our first report about the new C63 AMG yesterday, today comes more details about the US-spec models.

First, please note that the official new name for the C63 AMG is: Mercedes-AMG C63. Below are latest summary of US-spec C63:
