2015 Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition Information

There is no special treatment to the engine for the new generation of Mustang’s 50 year edition. The sole available engine is the  5.0L V8 which pumps out 420hp and  390 lb-ft of torque.

Besides the tweaks in the exterior and interior, which tells everybody who is looking at your car that “this is a special edition one”, a good news for those who does not know how to drive a manual transmission car: the Performance Package is available for the auto transmission version. The Performance Package contains Brembo front brakes, 19-inch wheels and high performance tires.

Ford replaced its Lincoln brand chief designer

According to Ford, it replaced its former Lincoln brand designer Max Wolff, with David Woodhouse. This new HR change happened in last December.

Woodhouse joined Ford back in 1999. Before that he worked for GM. During his previous work in Ford, Woodhouse oversaw the exterior design of the previous-Ford-own luxury brands such as Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover and Volvo.

While we do not know the actual reason why Ford let Wolff step down his post, we know Wolff did make good progress for the Lincoln brand. The model he was in charge of the exterior design, the Lincoln MKZ’s sales gain 36% in the last quarter.

Spy Shots: 2015 Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Special Edition Prototype

2015 model year for the Ford Mustang will be on a completely new platform, which incorporates a Mustang-first-ever independent rear suspension (actually that suspension, similar to the Ford Fusion, is a quite high-end design, which only appears on luxury cars such as the BMW 5/7 series).

Another good news for Mustang fans is this long rumored 50th anniversary edition. Previously some folks claimed Ford will be “all out” for this special product, now it appears that Ford does not throw too many massages on this special edition, except some cosmetic changes, and maybe several ponies extra on the engine...
