Even though the pricing for the 2015 Corvette Z06 is not available at this moment, a lot of interested buyers have put their names on their local Chevy dealership’s waiting list. As far as I know in major metro areas, some dealership’s list has hundreds of people’s name on it. People just simply want to buy the 650-hp  Z06 regardless what will the MSRP be (with so many people on the waiting list, it is impossible to buy the Z06 under MSRP at this moment), or what options they can opt for.

Today comes news for the Z06 enthusiasts: the official 2015 model year Corvette order guide leaked out today, and it includes the Z06 models...

Today there was a rumor that surfaced online that the next generation Corvette may have a mid-engine layout, or will have a mid-engined variant.

First let’s make it clear that Chevrolet does produce a mid-engined Corvette. However, here “a mid-engined Corvette” means Chevy actually only made one unit of such a Corvette, which is the Corvette Daytona Prototype, which Chevrolet created specifically for the 2012 Daytona race. Below are images of this Corvette.

Corvette Daytona Prototype is not a production car, and Chevrolet has no plan to make it a production car, plain and simple.

Insider news about GM leaked today indicates the next generation of Corvette (termed C8), may has an option of hybrid powertrain.

We all know that the biggest bottleneck of the internal combustion engine is its torque delivery. No matter how flat the torque curve it can achieve, it will never match the level that maximum torque at zero rpm, which is a special characteristic of the electric motor.

Therefore, adding an electric motor into the powertrain not only can enhance the car’s mpg, but most importantly it will significantly benefit the car’s acceleration performance...

Nowadays, cars usually have their engine bolted to transmission together directly, because it is easy to implement and saves costs. For some sports cars which seek to have a better weight distribution, the engine and transmission are located in different section of the car body, therefore requires an extra solid torque tube to connect them. This is an exotic design, for example, the below image shows the LFA’s torque tube.
