We have attended the 2016 BMW 7-Series preview event yesterday night at Beverly Hills, California. During the event we have the opportunity to experience two pre-production 750i xDrive sedans: one with the executive lounge 4-seat configuration, another is the MSport version.

We are not allowed to bring any cameras or cellphones into the event location, but for how the new G11/G12 7 Series looks there are already plenty of photos and renderings leaked on the internet, the above is one of them...

The all-new 6th-generation BMW 7 series will start production in this July, and last week you have seen how the new 7 series looks. Today we will show you some highlights of the new BMW flagship sedan’s specifications.

Below are what we have known at this moment:

– Carbon fiber (Carbon fiber–reinforced polymer – CFRP)/aluminum/steel hybrid material car body construction; the CFRP used on the G11/12 7 series is 50% lighter than steel, and 30% lighter than aluminum; Used in places such as the B-pillar, C-pillar, transmission tunnel, roof rails etc.

The upcoming 2015 Lexus NX200t is equipped with the first turbocharged engine within the whole Lexus history. This engine has the Toyota internal code name “8AR-FTS”.

The 8AR-FTS has an 2.0L displacement with an open-deck, midi-skirt type aluminum cylinder block. It also has a fully balanced forged steel crankshaft, cast-in iron cylinder liners.

On the Lexus NX200t, the turbocharged 8AR-FTS makes 235 hp at 5,600 rpm with 258 lb-ft of torque available from 1,650-4,000 rpm. On the paper this engine sounds just like a normal modern 4-cylinder turbo engine, which has similar performance (2...
