Crash Test Comparison: Mercedes-Benz C Class 2015 Model vs. 2008 Model

The redesigned W205 Mercedes-Benz C Class has not be on sale in US at this moment (the expected date will be around end of August), so there is no US crash protection ratings at this moment.

However European test program Euro NCAP has fully tested the new C Class recently. Unlike IIHS, Euro NCAP does not provide detailed measure data to the car frame, it only provides a rating and points system to the public, so besides the similar result between the new W205 and older W204 generation, we can only judge their performance from the video.

Farewell to the First-Gen Hyundai Genesis – A Test Drive Review

I can still remember that back in the days during Christmas seasons of 2008 and the beginning of 2009, advertisements and short promotion films about the Hyundai Genesis were flooding the US auto market, on TVs, radios and internet media. For example there was an advertisement showing a Hyundai engineer armed with a slide calipers, measuring gaps between body panels of the Genesis and its competitors such as BMW, Audi etc., and claimed the fit of Genesis is superior to its competitors. There were also claims about the Genesis is faster than xxx, and quieter than yyy etc.

The most important thing is that the 2009 model year Genesis MSRP only starts at a little bit over $30...

More Details: The Supercharged HEMI 6.2L V8 on Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

For the new engine in the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat, the supercharger supplier is not Eaton (which is famous for the Eaton TVS used on the Audi 3.0 V6 engine). Instead it is an twin screw supercharger from IHI.

The IHI supercharger has similar efficiency with the Eaton TVS roots-type superchargers, but it has a significant higher operation noise level, which I think is not a problem for the purpose of Challenger anyway – because the Challenger is not designed for luxury car purpose. And also I guess the invoice that IHI is quoting Chrysler may be lower than Eaton.

After the supercharger there is a huge pressure stabilization chamber similar to a naturally aspirated e...

If you owns luxury cars, please do not be offended by the following content, because this is only an academic research and there is no definite conclusion that who must be what.

Here is the paper that published on PNAS (Proceedings of the National Aca...

The Most Expensive Car in the World

If you consider the Bugatti Veyron to be very expensive, the price of the following car will make you think this is ridiculous.

The latest transaction price of the 1962 -1964 Ferrari 250 GTO, reached $52 million. That is 20 times of the base Bugatti Veyron’s MSRP.

Ferrari_250_GTO_1

Many of you may not know, 50 years earlier Ferrari cars do not hold value, that’s because at that time Ferrari owners generally did not care about the car and did not maitain it well. Ferrari only build 39 units of the 250 GTO during the 60s, it was sold MSRP $18,500 as a new car in 1962 – 1964; it depreciated quickly to $10,500 as a second-hand car in 1965...
