Mercedes-Benz C450 Debut

If you have been following our blog recently, you may have already heard that Mercedes-Benz will debut the C450 AMG Sport soon.

Today, Mercedes-Benz announced that they will not only bring in the C450, but also the AMG Sport model of the upcoming MLC CUV (a competitor of the BMW X6). You can see how they look like in the above teaser photo.

Please note that “AMG Sport” does not mean the Mercedes AMG models such as the C63 AMG. It is something similar to the BMW M Performance product line, such as the M235i.

More Than Rumors?

It is also rumored that Lexus is going to design the next-generation of the RX SUV to be a 3-row-seater. In fact, during our interview with Mr. Yasuo Kajino, Group Manager of the Lexus Design Division, Mr. Kajino mentioned to me that the LF-C2 concept does not indicate only one production model, in fact it reflects the possibility of several new model design styles. During the 2014 LA auto show last week, we have a chance to talk to Mr. Alexander Bilgeri, VP of Corporate Communications of BMW USA.

According to Mr. Bilgeri, there will not be any AWD variants for the current M3 sedan and M4 coupe/convertible. When being asked about the next-generation of the M5 sedan, he also mentioned that BMW does not plan to make an AWD variant as well.

Mr. Bilgeri explained to me that, this decision is based on the fact that BMW upper management wants to keep the M car’s RWD tradition, and they want to keep the M3/M4/M5 go be a “pure sports car”.

The All New 2015 Crosstrek

Yesterday, Subaru released the pricing and option list for the 2015 model year XV Crosstrek, for the US market. Below are major changes for the new model year:

– Entry-level model added: the XV Crosstrek 2.0i, only 5-speed manual transmission offered, starting at $21,595
– The Subaru EyeSight technology is available
– New multimedia system
– Backup camera is now standard on all trims
