Today Porsche released information about the 2015 model year Cayenne. Below are some highlights.
– All trim models are still using the Aisin sourced 8-speed automatic transmission (Tiptronic S). NOT the PDK as some people’s guess from some previous spy shots
– Cayenne Turbo get LED headlight as standard; other models have Bi-Xenon headlight by default
– Four point LED daytime running light
– New multifunction sport steering wheel for all trims
Cayenne S E Hybrid New Changes
– The gas engine is carried over (3.0L supercharged V6, 333hp)
– Electric power part is updated to plug-in capability, with support from a 10.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack, paired to a 95hp electric motor (2014 model only has a 47hp electric motor)
– Combined power rating: 416hp @ 5,500RPM; 435 lb-ft @ 1,250-4,000RPM (compared to the 2014 model’s 380hp @ 5,500RPM; 428 lb-ft @ 1000RPM)
– 0-60: 5.4 seconds
– Top speed: 151mph (under pure electric mode: 78 mph)
– Base MSRP: $76,400 (+ $995 S&H)
Cayenne S New Changes
– New 3.6L twin-turbo V6 engine developed by Porsche in-house; 420hp @ 6,000RPM; 406 lb-ft @ 1,350-4,500RPM (Compared to the 2014 model: 4.8L naturally aspirated V8, 400hp @ 6,500RPM; 369 lb-ft @ 3,500-5,000RPM)
– 0-60: 5.2 seconds (with Sport Chrono pkg: 5.1s)
– Top speed: 160mph
– Base MSRP: $74,100 (+ $995 S&H)
Cayenne Turbo New Changes
– Engine is the same 4.8L twin-turbo V8, but output is increased to 520hp @ 6,000RPM; 553 lb-ft @ 2,250-4,000RPM (2014 model: 500hp @ 6,000RPM; 516 lb-ft @ 2,250-4,000RPM)
– 0-60: 4.2 seconds (with Sport Chrono pkg: 4.1s)
– Top speed: 173mph
– Base MSRP: $113,600 (+ $995 S&H)
Cayenne Diesel: mechanical part is unchanged; MSRP starts at $61,700
