For those who wanted to but missed the chance to order the 1927-unit limited production of the 2015 XC90 First Edition, here is a news that may probably make you feel better: Volvo has announced the R-Design trim for the 2015 XC90, which includes features that the limited-production First Edition won’t have.

New features for the XC90 R-Design trims include exclusive upgrades to both of the exterior and interior materials and styling. The R-Design trims are available for all powertrain selection (from T5 to T8 models).

Volvo Plans to Enter Full Size Luxury Sedan Market

When you are considering to buy a luxury-brand car, I bet most of you will not think Volvo has the same prestige image as the three German brands (Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi).

The reasons for this is quite complicated, but one of them is the fact that, Volvo does not has a “real” full-size sedan in its product line at this moment. Current Volvo XC90 Will Keep On For Sale in China, Renamed to XC Classic

We all know the redesigned 2015 Volvo XC90 will be in dealership’s showroom very soon. It is natural for us to think the current generation of XC90 will be discontinued.

Well, this is true for most of the markets in the world, but not the case for China market. Just like VW is still selling the B5, B6 together with the B7 Passat in China at this moment, Volvo is going for the same route for the retired XC90.

According to Volvo, it has planned to keep the current XC90 in China market for the next couple years. To distinguish the old XC90 from the new generation, it will be renamed to “XC Classic”.
