2017 Porsche Boxster and Cayman Will Get 4-Cylinder Engines in US Market

Porsche has not sold any car that has 4-cylinder engine for a long time in the US, however this will be overthrown next year, when the 2017 model year of the Boxster and Cayman hit the market.

According to Matthias Mueller, CEO of Porsche AG, the German sports car maker is going to put at least one turbocharged flat-4 engine in the mid-cycle-updated 2017 Boxster and Cayman.

The most possible choice of the 4-cylinder engine will be the 2.0L unit which is currently used on the Macan CUV, delivering 233hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.

The Bentley Bentayga is the first SUV model in the British auto maker’s history.

Just similar to other Bentley models, which mostly share the platform developed within Volkswagen, the Bentayga is not an exception: it is built on the VW PL71 platform, which is also used by the Volkswagen Touareg, Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and even the future Lamborghini SUV.

The Bentayga will feature at least two engine options: the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 and also the W12 6.0L twin-turbo W12. It is said that a plug-in hybrid variant is also in the pipeline too.

Upcoming Porsche Boxster Spyder May Has 375HP

For the current generation of the Porsche Boxster (981), the highest trim is the Boxster GTS which has a 3.4L flat-6 naturally aspirated engine producing 330HP.
