Two days ago we have reported latest announcement from Mercedes about the G500 4x4² Concept. Today the German automaker released more information for the truck.
Major news is the engine output number 420hp with 450 lb-ft of torque, plus some dimesion measurements. Please see more information in the below press release

Last year, Mercedes-Benz debuted its 9 speed transmission (called 9G-Tronic) in its European market E class sedan.
Although with the same aluminum made torque converter bell housing, compared to the current 7G-Tronic, this 9G-Tronic transmission changes to use magnesium alloy to construct its main casing, which is lighter and retains the same strength. The transmission oil pan is made with plastic though.
However, there is no dramatic difference of the mechanical shifting parts between the 9G and 7G transmission. Both of them have 4 planetary gear sets and 6 shifting elements (3 multi-disc clutches and 3 multi-disc brakes)...

Enterprise news source inform us that some of their southern California locations are running a promotion, you can rent a Mercedes or a Jaguar for 3 weekend days (Friday – Monday required), at a daily rate of $69.99.
This photo is taken at Costa Mesa Enterprise, which confirms the news. I specifically asked which model of Jaguar they are renting out, they said it will be a Jaguar XF.
