Mercedes-Benz Announced SL550 Special Edition Mille Miglia 417

What is “Mille Miglia”? – It is an Italian open-road endurance race which was held from 1927 to 1957. Mercedes-Benz had won this race twice in history (1931: SSK and also 1955: 300 SLR).

Today Mercedes announced a special edition of the SL550, to commemorate the 1955 Mille Miglia winning. This special edition is named “Mille Miglia 417”. Here, the number “417” means the race car’s start time (4:17 am). For the Mille Miglia racing, cars did not start at the same time; instead they started the trip in different time intervals (smaller displacement/slower cars started first)...

2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport: Officially Announced

The Detroit Auto Show has kicked off today and Mercedes-Benz just announced a new member in the C Class family: the 2016 C450 AMG Sport.

But please do not be confused with the “AMG” in its name, the C450 AMG Sport is not a AMG car like the C63 AMG. It is in fact a C Class with some AMG treatments, like the M Sport in BMW, or the S-Line in Audi.  One major upgrade for the C450 AMG Sport is the engine: although it is shared with the C400’s 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6, its output is boosted up to 362hp and 384 lb-ft of torque.

2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Highlights

– 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6,362hp and 384 lb-ft of torque
– 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission
– 4Mat...

Mercedes-Benz Self Driving Concept: The F015

This year at the 2015 Las Vegas CES, there are several topics about cars: the fuel cell technologies by Toyota, the connected car from BMW and the self-driving concept car from Mercedes-Benz.

In the press conference about 5 hours ago, Dr. Dieter Zetsche, chairman of Daimler AG and head of Mercedes-Benz named this self-driving prototype as “F015”.

The F015 concept maximizes cabin space by pushing the wheels forward and backward respectively. And it also let its passengers “connected” to the outside by installing a total of 6 high-resolution LCD touchscreen in the cabin.

The exterior of the F015 seems to not be made with s...

Mercedes-Benz Is Planning the G63 AMG 4X4 Truck

Maybe you have heard of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6X6 (image shown below), which by its name basically means a 6-wheel-drive truck.

Now Mercedes is planning to produce a 4-wheel version of the G63 AMG 6X6.

If you think the G63 AMG 6X6 is just simply adding two more wheels to the standard G63 AMG SUV, and the G63 AMG 4X4 is just an upgrade version of the standard G63 AMG, then you are totally wrong. In fact you can consider both of the 6X6 and 4X4 as a totally different car than the G63 AMG.

Let’s take the G63 AMG 6X6 as an example. The only things that are shared with the standard G63 AMG is the engine, transmission and part of the exterior/interior panels.

Besides the ...
