A New Round of Horsepower Competition

Eight years earlier, cars sold under the $35k mark seldom get a 300hp+ engine (with exceptions like the 2005
Mustang GT), not to mention whether it was possible to get a 300hp+ luxury car at that time. Even though the
Mustang GT gets a 300hp V8 engine which is considered “high output” at that time, it sacrifices refinement
and interior material qualities and lots of other features.

But in the end of 2005, after Lexus released the 2GR-FSE engine, which was used in the 2006 IS350, the
situation is permanently changed. Equipped with the dual-injection-system 2GR-FSE engine, The IS350 has
306hp and carries a MSRP of $35,440 and its invoice price is $31,186 (for many peopl...

Mercedes-Benz Will Discontinue the ML550 for 2015 Model Year

Just like the E550 will be removed from Mercedes-Benz’s 2015 catalog, the same fate falls on the ML550 too.

The current ML550 is equipped with a twin-turbo V8 engine, good for 402hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. For the 2015 model year, only the ML63AMG will retain a V8 engine, the rest of the ML-class lineup will be equipped with several solely V6 engines.

The one on the ML400 (which replaces the ML550) will have the same engine in the 2015 C400, which is a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 with 329hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. Talking about power output, obviously this is a step down from the ML550; but the upside is better fuel efficiency and higher mpg.

Other changes will be the removal o...

Crash Test Comparison: Mercedes-Benz C Class 2015 Model vs. 2008 Model

The redesigned W205 Mercedes-Benz C Class has not be on sale in US at this moment (the expected date will be around end of August), so there is no US crash protection ratings at this moment.

However European test program Euro NCAP has fully tested the new C Class recently. Unlike IIHS, Euro NCAP does not provide detailed measure data to the car frame, it only provides a rating and points system to the public, so besides the similar result between the new W205 and older W204 generation, we can only judge their performance from the video.

Below are two comparisons between the new and old C class, one is the 64 kph (40 mph) frontal crash test; and another is the 29 kph (18 ...

Actually How Many People Lease Their Cars?

We always hear the idea of leasing cars, or maybe you are already leasing a car at this moment. There are also debates whether leasing or purchasing saves you more money. There is no absolute answer for this question because the final cost depends heavily on your income/expense/tax situations, therefore it is case by case.

In US, since you do not own the title of the leased car (the leasing company that owns the tile), this is classified as an operating lease...

Latest Spyshot of the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG

Last month we reported the existence of high-performance C class called “C450 AMG”.

Today we know the C450 will be at least released as a wagon version, because of the following spyshots. From the images we see one major exterior difference between the C450 and other non-AMG C class models is the quad exhaust under the rear bumper.

We also believe the C450 sedan willl come out together with the C450 wagon next year.
