Yesterday, Jaguar Land Rover’s new China factory, located in Changshu, Jiangsu province, officially started its production. This marks the completion of JLR’s first step in product localization process in the China market.

Today Jaguar released full details of its upcoming compact sports sedan: the XE. However, the below information is for UK market only. It is expected that the US market will not receive the diesel engine and the manual transmission options, at least for its initial market launch here.

The Jaguar Ingenium engine is a series of 2.0L displacement 4-cylinder engines from the Jaguar Land Rover Automotive. This engine family has both the petrol and diesel variants.

Today Jaguar released some more details about the diesel versions of the Ingenium engine, which will be firstly used on the upcoming XE sedan, and they are coming in two different output:

– 161hp, 280 lb-ft of torque
– 177hp, 317 lb-ft of torque
– Using technologies such as: variable exhaust valve timing; cooled low-pressure EGR, selective catalytic reduction
