I can still remember that back in the days during Christmas seasons of 2008 and the beginning of 2009, advertisements and short promotion films about the Hyundai Genesis were flooding the US auto market, on TVs, radios and internet media. For example there was an advertisement showing a Hyundai engineer armed with a slide calipers, measuring gaps between body panels of the Genesis and its competitors such as BMW, Audi etc., and claimed the fit of Genesis is superior to its competitors. There were also claims about the Genesis is faster than xxx, and quieter than yyy etc.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Prevails in Crash Test

Yesterday the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) release crash test results for the new generation Hyundai Genesis sedan.

From the compartment intrusion measurement data on small overlap front test, moderate overlap front test, the performance of the Genesis sedan is superb. Look at the below photo after the small overlap front test, there is minimal shape changes for the safety cage; from the actual measurement data, the Genesis small overlap front intrusion is even better than some other cars’ moderate overlap test result.

2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan prices and options released

While the base new 2015 Genesis sedan has a $2,800 hike than the current 2014 model, it also includes better upgrades that the 2014 base model does not have. For example:

Wheels: the new Genesis has 245 width tire as standard, while the 2014 model only has 235;

Wipers: the new one has rain-sensing wipers, the 2014 one does not have;

Navigation system: the 2015 model has it as standard, the old model is an extra-cost option;

Rearview camera: standard feature for the new, extra-cost option for the old.
