Facelifted 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Announced

Last month, we have reported the 2016 model year GL-class is going to replace its old 4.7L V8 with the latest M177 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine. Today Mercedes-Benz announced its second move on the V8 engine swapping: the current 5.5L naturally aspirated V8 (M273) used on the G500/G550 will go for good, and the new turbo-charged M177 4.0L V8 is going to assume its role.

Mercedes-Benz Will Sell The V12 2016 G65 AMG in US

For those who is rich enough and want to buy a SUV whose engine has the most cylinders, now comes one of the ultimate choices: the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG with a twin-turbo 6.0L V12 engine.

The G65 AMG is not a new creation, because Mercedes-Benz has released in other markets back in 2012. The V12 monster has 612 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque, routed to its four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission. Official 0-100kmh (0-62mph) time is 5.3 seconds and top speed is 143mph.
