2016 Cadillac ATS-V Comes with More Power, Reaching 464HP

We have been extensively covered the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V since last May, 2014. For our previous reports about the ATS-V, please see here. Originally Cadillac said the ATS-V’s 3.6L twin-turbo V6 engine is capable of 455hp and 445 lb-ft of torque, 0-60mph only needs 3.9 seconds, with top speed 189mph.

Today Cadillac announced that the final output spec of the ATS-V will be higher than the original estimate, now SAE-certified at 464hp and 444 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 time is reduced to 3.8 seconds.

Please note: if you read Cadillac’s previous press release, it mentions for the ATS-V there is “structural stiffness increased by 25 percent”. Please do not be confused about this...

2016 Cadillac ATS-V Pricing Released

We have been talking about the Cadillac ATS-V since last May, and you can see all of our previous coverage here.

Since our last interview with Mr. David Leone, Cadillac’s Executive Chief Engineer, Cadillac has been quiet on further information regarding the BMW M3/M4 fighter. But today, GM finally released one of the most important number we are expecting: the price.

The 2016 ATS-V sedan starts at MSRP $61,460, and the ATS-V coupe starts at $63,660. The ATS-V sedan is a couple hundred dollar cheaper than the BMW M3 ($62,000), and it is the same for the ATS-V coupe too (compared with BMW M4’s $64,200)...

2015 Cadillac ATS Long-Wheel-Base Engine Specification Released

Today Cadillac announced detailed powertrain spec for the upcoming LWB ATS. Currently this ATS-L is only available in Chinese market.

Two engine options will be offered, they are both using the turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine:

ATS-L 25T: 227 hp, 260 lb-ft of torque
ATS-L 28T: 275 hp, 295 lb-ft of torque

Please note that the ATS-L 28T has higher output (3 hp more) than the US market 2014 ATS sedan equipped with the same engine, which outputs 272 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque; it also has higher horsepower than the 2015 ATS coupe, which is 272 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

Regardless of the engine option, they are all mated to GM’s 6-speed automatic transmission...

2015 Cadillac ATS Sedan Gets Facelifted, Power Gained for 2.0T Engine

Today Cadillac released detail information for the 2015 ATS sedan and coupe

The most noticeable change in the sedan’s exterior is the new Cadillac logo (without the olive branches) in the front grille, as we have reported a month ago.

Another big news is the upgrade to the 2.0L turbo engine, which torque output is raised to 295 lb-ft, an increase of 14% compared to the 2014 model. The 2.0L turbo engine is available on both the sedan and coupe trim.

Other changes including various new electronic features (WiFi hotspot, enhanced CUE, text message alerts and Teen Driver features etc), and also the DockSpot wireless cellphone charging functionality from Powermat.

Cadillac Long Wheelbase ATS-L Spyshot and More Details

If you have already known the fact that in the Chinese market, BMW has something like 320Li, Audi has A4L, Mercedes-Benz has C260L, Infiniti has Q70L, Volvo has the S60L, you won’t be surprised that Cadillac is making the ATS-L.

Back in Nov. 1st of 2012, GM Shanghai announced the plan to upgrade its Shanghai Pudong Jin Qiao factory and preparing it for manufacturing the LWB ATS. The upgrade costs GM a total of RMB 1,637,000,000, and the project was completed in December 2013.
