Lexus showed a blue-color 2015 NX200t FSport at the Orange County Auto Show the past weekend.

Some observations:

1. Both front seats and the 2nd-row seat has plenty of legroom, the RX owners probably won’t feel it to be cramped
2. Lots of cargo space, which suggests Lexus may want to use the NX to replace the RX, and the RX will be upgraded to compete in SUV with 3-row seating;
3. Interior materials and build quality is first-class, with leather wrapped and fine stitching dashboard, plus the center console and armrest
4. LED headlights are fantastic
5. Exhaust tips looks quite sporty

Lexus NX200t Turbo Engine to Get High Output Version?

The upcoming 2015 Lexus NX200t is equipped with the first turbocharged engine within the whole Lexus history. This engine has the Toyota internal code name “8AR-FTS”.

The 8AR-FTS has an 2.0L displacement with an open-deck, midi-skirt type aluminum cylinder block. It also has a fully balanced forged steel crankshaft, cast-in iron cylinder liners.

2015 Lexus NX Production Started

Yesterday (Aug. 8), the Lexus NX SUV started its production at Toyota’s Kyushu plants.

The Miyata Plant, is responsible for assembling of the NX; while the Kanda Plant is building the NX200t’s 8AR-FTS turbo engine. The NX200t is the first Lexus vehicle to receive a turbocharged engine.

The first production NX is a red NX200t FSport. This is the first production NX200t rolling off the assembling line.
