Mid-Cycle Updated 2015 Chrysler 300 Will Be Announced in LA Auto Show

It has already been 3 years since the second generation Chrylser 300 was introduced back in 2011, we all know this means the full size sedan is due for a mid-cycle renew this year.

Today Chrysler confirmed that the refreshed 300 will bow at this November’s Los Angeles auto show. There will be no major mechanical changes, and the refresh is mainly focus on exterior/interior appearance, electronic features/gadgets.

The 3.6L 292hp V6 and also the 5.7L HEMI V8, which has 370hp will be carried over to the 2015 model. At this moment, we are not sure whether the 300 SRT Hellcat will exist, although we have already known its cousin – the Dodge Charger will receive the Hellcat treatment for the 2015 model year.

A little background of the Chrysler 300 model: its platform was developed back in the years that Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz belonged to the same company (DaimlerChrysler). It is using the architecture of the W211 Mercedes-Benz E-Class (2003 – 2009), and part of the suspension system from the W220 S-Class (1998 – 2005). Chrysler called it to be the “LX Platform”. Therefore, there is no significant difference between the 1st and 2nd-gen of the Chrysler 300.
